How to Set Up ColdProxy With Your Tools
1. Get your proxy credentials
Log in to the ColdProxy client dashboard and find your proxy host, port, username, and password under your active plan. Every plan — hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly — provides credentials in the same format.
2. Choose the right protocol
ColdProxy supports HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5 on all plans. For browser-profile tools, SOCKS5 is recommended — it routes all traffic types with the lowest latency. For web scraping and automation frameworks, HTTP/HTTPS works well.
3. Enter the proxy in your tool
Paste your credentials using one of these formats:
host:port:username:password
username:password@host:portBoth formats are accepted by most tools. If your tool asks for authentication type, select username & password. ColdProxy also supports IP whitelisting if you prefer IP-based authentication.
4. Pick your session type
Use rotating sessions when each request needs a different IP (web scraping, data collection). Use sticky sessions when you need the same IP for a set period (account management, social media, e-commerce). Session duration is configurable in the dashboard.
